Introduction
This privacy statement explains the reason for the processing, the way we collect, handle and ensure protection of all personal data provided, how that information is used and what rights you may exercise in relation to your data.
Why do we process your data?
The Climate Platform is a private sector initiative that contributes in an economically viable manner to the international climate objectives. It can collect from times-to-times contributions to the broader climate debate which it might share with a wider audience for learning purposes or to support climate action. When data which was not already publicly available is shared by the Climate Platform through its communication channels, the purpose is always to constructively contribute to climate action or trigger outcomes on climate adaptation or mitigation.
Which data do we collect and process?
Only data necessary for improving climate action or at the request of a specific client of the Climate Platform can be collected and processed. Names and email addresses can be submitted to allow the Climate Platform contact the data subject when distributing its newsletter or climate information which might be of interest to the data subject.
Every data is given on a voluntary basis and can be deleted from our data storing devices upon request by the data subject.
How do we protect your data?
All data in electronic format (e-mails, documents) are stored on the servers of the Climate Platform which abide by a third party hosting service provider. Security of the information we store is achieved through cryptographic storage and password protection.
What are your rights and How can you exercise them?
According to Regulation (EC) n°45/2001, you are entitled to access your personal data and rectify, block or delete it in case the data is inaccurate or incomplete. You can exercise your rights by contacting using the contact information page on our website.
